Chestnut-crowned Laughingthrush Pictures and Detail
Today, I am going talk about Chestnut-crowned Laughingthrush which are one of a kind of Laughingthrush birds. These birds, mostly like to remain in isolation and in dense forests or vegetation. Therefore, they are not commonly seen.
I was lucky as I got the chance to capture some of pictures of these birds during my visit to some forest area in Himachal Pradesh.

The most interesting point about these birds is that very less is known about them.
I took, the picture of group of Chestnut-crowned Laughingthrush birds when they were drinking nectar from the wild cherry flowers.
These birds, mostly found in groups and they are characterized laughing sound; therefore, they got name Laughingthrush.
At present these birds are extinct from Pakistan and they are left in good numbersat other places; and, their population is increasing as per present trend. This bird is listed in IUCN Red List least concern species. This is a good news for these birds.
The Chestnut-crowned Laughingthrush birds, mainly found in India, China, Nepal and Bhutan. These birds are basically resident birds and they have short flights due to short wings.
It is common to find them in groups because they are very social in nature. These birds can be found over a long range starting from Northern India to EasternIndia, while cover parts of Nepal, China and Bhutan.
These birds eat insects, berries, nectar etc. They come to lower heights when it snows at higher peaks Himalaya.
